VICTOR MIGNATTI
Writer / Director / Editor
Mignatti recently co-authored with rapper Kool Moe Dee, THE PHAT PACK, a screenplay for producer Ann Carli. The comedy is set to star Kool Moe Dee, Tone Loc, Big Daddy Kane and Doug E Doug. Another feature comedy DO YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU KISS ME? is being developed with Carli. He has authored and is developing the psychological dramas MR. OLMSTED KNOWS IT ALL and PHANTOM SKYLINE, a story of romantic and sexual obsession set in NYC in the weeks following September 11th. The romantic comedy BROADWAY DAMAGE has been seen around the world as an official selection at over three-dozen international film festivals and was theatrically released in the USA by Jour de Fete Films. Critic Rex Reed called it One of the best American Independent films in years. The film has been honored with three Best Picture Awards, toured the United Kingdom on the prestigious British Film Institute Tour and Germany on the Verzaubert Tour. Mignatti majored in film production at New York University and studied acting at Circle in the Square Theater School then launched his career in the sound department of Du-Art Film Labs where he enjoyed the opportunity to study the dailies of Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and the Maysles Brothers. Later, at Jupiter Films, he met TV commercial impresario Mason Boyd who encouraged him to edit by assigning him directors cuts of commercials. He has edited for such clients as CBS News, ABC News, Cyndi Lauper, Pink Floyd, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, Elizabeth Arden and Showtime. Gradually some of his editing clients gave him a shot at directing commercials. Since then he has become known for his tongue-in-cheek point of view, directing spots for such clients as Sega Genesis, Lifesavers, Cablevision, PBS, and Dreyfus Financial, his favorite being the notorious Clearasil Pizza Face spot that ran for years on MTV. Mignatti has also directed many award-winning public service announcements and image films including work for the ACLU, GMHC and Channel One. |
