VICTOR MIGNATTI

Victor Mignatti has written, directed, produced and edited multi award-winning film, television, commercial and public service projects. He is currently directing the feature documentary SWEET INSPIRATION that follows the birth of indie label Frixion Records as it attempts to resurrect the careers of 60’s and 70’s R&B artists The Sweet Inspirations, Pat Hodges, Marlena Shaw, Edna Wright and Hodges, James & Smith. He is the writer-director of the feature film BROADWAY DAMAGE and directed the People’s Choice Award Nominated THE REAL WORLD NEW ORLEANS as well as 10th anniversary season THE REAL WORLD NEW YORK and other programs including SWITCHED for ABC Family.

Mignatti recently co-authored with rapper Kool Moe Dee, THE PHAT PACK, a screenplay for producer Ann Carli. The comedy is set to star Kool Moe Dee, Tone Loc, Big Daddy Kane and Doug E Doug. Another feature comedy DO YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU KISS ME? is being developed with Carli. He has authored and is developing the psychological dramas MR. OLMSTED KNOWS IT ALL and PHANTOM SKYLINE, a story of romantic and sexual obsession set in NYC in the weeks following September 11th.

The romantic comedy BROADWAY DAMAGE has been seen around the world as an official selection at over three-dozen international film festivals and was theatrically released in the USA by Jour de Fete Films. Critic Rex Reed called it “One of the best American Independent films in years.” The film has been honored with three Best Picture Awards, toured the United Kingdom on the prestigious British Film Institute Tour and Germany on the Verzaubert Tour.

Mignatti majored in film production at New York University and studied acting at Circle in the Square Theater School then launched his career in the sound department of Du-Art Film Labs where he enjoyed the opportunity to study the dailies of Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and the Maysles Brothers. Later, at Jupiter Films, he met TV commercial impresario Mason Boyd who encouraged him to edit by assigning him director’s cuts of commercials. He has edited for such clients as CBS News, ABC News, Cyndi Lauper, Pink Floyd, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, Elizabeth Arden and Showtime. Gradually some of his editing clients gave him a shot at directing commercials. Since then he has become known for his tongue-in-cheek point of view, directing spots for such clients as Sega Genesis, Lifesavers, Cablevision, PBS, and Dreyfus Financial, his favorite being the notorious Clearasil “Pizza Face” spot that ran for years on MTV. Mignatti has also directed many award-winning public service announcements and image films including work for the ACLU, GMHC and Channel One.

DAVID TOPEL
Producer

A Philadelphia trial lawyer with a passion for movies, producer David Topel developed his production skills in the political arena at the age of eighteen as a research assistant to Hubert H. Humphrey. He went on to co-chair the first campaign of U.S. Senator Joseph Biden. He has written and directed four plays, produced the PBS award winning musical "C'est La Guerre" and is currently developing his feature screenplays "BIRTHRIGHT" and "MARY DON'T ASK!" co-written with composer Michael Ogborn.

MICHAEL MAYERS

Michael Mayers has photographed feature films, documentaries, music videos, commercials and everything in between. His feature film work includes the indie films "WHATEVER" (1998 Sundance Film Festival, Sony Classics), "DENISE CALLS UP"(Cannes Film Festival, Sony Classics), "SPANKING THE MONKEY" (Sundance Audience Award, Miramax), "LEWIS AND CLARK AND GEORGE" (Sundance Film Festival), and "CAFE SOCIETY" (Showtime) for which he was nominated for a Cable Ace Award for Best Cinematography for a Movie or Mini Series. His work can currently be seen on television on NBC's "WEST WING." His extensive documentary work includes National Geographic's recent "Impact" and "Sideshow" which garnered the second highest ratings in the history of the Learning Channel.

"BROADWAY DAMAGE" is the first acquisition for Jour de Fete Films, a new distribution and production entity founded by former Strand Releasing co-president Mike Thomas and Dan Castle, also formerly with Strand. Concurrent with Jour de Fete, Thomas co-founded Rialto Pictures which will restore and reissue major film classics, including Federico Fellini's "NIGHTS OF CABIRIA.". Jour de Fete and Rialto Pictures share distribution offices in Hollywood.
