"BROADWAY DAMAGE" is Victor Mignatti's antidote to cynicism, a valentine to New York City and the dreamers who still believe in the magic of the grand romantic gesture. In this very romantic comedy, two NYU grads move into their first Greenwich Village walk-up, tack their diplomas to the wall above the toilet and cross that precarious threshold into adulthood.
Marc (Michael Shawn Lucas) and Robert (Aaron Williams) are best friends who share a love of Broadway musicals. Robert dreams of writing the next "West Side Story" and settling down with Marc who dreams of an acting career. The problem is that Marc, being a hopeless romantic, only goes out with guys who are a perfect "10." Unfortunately, Robert isn't. As Marc struggles to land his first acting job, his roommate Cynthia (Mara Hobel) blithely spends her days shopping on Daddy's credit cards and plotting to get a fantasy job with magazine editor Tina Brown. Agendas collide when Marc falls for David (Hugh Panaro), a handsome pop star wannabe. Everyone's expectations unravel when they discover that David has more than a few skeletons in his closet and that Cynthia is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and may be wanted by the FBI. |
